We often wonder how good interviewers become good interviewers. There are a lot of them out there as we see every day on TV, but only one or two of them really stand out as naturals and as interviewers who are memorable. Amber Bollard is one of those stand out interviewers. We’ve seen her in action several times before and the same element in her interviewing approach always shines through and enables simple talking points to magically transform into a real conversation between two warm human beings. She has the ability to put people at ease and it is a technique that can’t be taught, either you have it or you don’t.
She has it alright and she demonstrated it when she interviewed the very likeable and extremely talented dancer/choreographer/Creative Director Anthony Burrell.
The two of them got along so well and it was certainly a unique and refreshing interview between two professionals who enjoy what they do.
Anthony, of course, is a professional in the dance world and he has worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Rihanna, Prince, Katy Perry, Kesha, Jennifer Hudson, Jay-Z among many others. He’s also been on Broadway, won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography for a Beyonce video, performed for President Obama, has appeared on too many TV shows to mention here and has been featured in several motion pictures including, Lemonade, Bad Grandpa, and Leave It On The Floor. What’s next for Mr. Burrell? He is currently in the process of developing a world class dance facility in Atlanta: The Anthony Burrell Center For Dance.
