ANTJE BOERMANS –ONE OF HOLLAND’S BRIGHTEST STARS

Antje Boermans, the Dutch actress who currently lives and works in Holland, has been acting since she was three-years old. She starred in a movie that was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Zus & Zo. That was certainly a great start for her career and apparently it gave her enough momentum to continue working from that time on. She’s always had some acting job since then, whether it was in TV or movies or commercials or videos.

When she’s not shooting a TV series or a movie, Antje is either out on auditions or studying with a master acting teacher like Margie Haber. Antje received some very intensive training at the Margie Haber Studio and she wouldn’t trade that experience for anything. She feels that Margie Haber is one of the best teachers out there.

Antje has also been in the feature film Accused, directed by Paula van der Oest, starring Marwan Kenzari, Barry Atsma and Fedja van Huet. She was featured in Hidden Flaws, another feature-length motion picture, which was directed by also Paula van der Oest and Antje worked alongside Monic Hendrix and Matteo van der Grijn. Antje’s performance in Hidden Flaws was short but unique and very touching.  The Domino Effect, starring American actor Theo James and David Hayman, also featured Antje.

Antje was also in the TV series Noord Zuid, which was about a female detective working in Amsterdam and using her background as a psychologist to solve crimes. After her divorce from Walter she tries to shape her life again – together with her daughter Rose, a 16-year-old teenager. Antje has acted with a great deal of professionals and has been directed by some great directors and she has learned a lot from everyone she has ever worked with. She thinks that gaining so much knowledge about the craft is by far THE most exciting achievement along with getting to actually go out and do it. She sees constant learning as an achievement because it is the core of everything.  Antje finds the moments where she sits in class and gets those light bulb moments are honestly the most exciting things about acting and her career.
