Celebsfans:Leila McCann, why did you choose a career in the theater?
I have always loved the theater, I just knew that it was the perfect career choice for me. Acting is my passion!
Celebsfans:Out of all of your achievements, what do you consider to be your best?
Starring in The Owl and The Pussycat is definitely my best so far. It was a huge honor being cast in the same role as Barbra Streisand and Diana Sands. And it was amazing catching the attention of the New York Times!
celebsfans:What projects are you currently working on?
My next play is opening in April, it’s called Spike Heels by Theresa Rebeck, I’m very excited about it! It will be on at the players theater on Macdougal street!
Celebsfans:What kind of roles do you usually play?
I get cast a lot as the prostitute, the mistress or the crazy chick *laughs* they are fun to play! all of the characters that I take on are versatile and have a lot of layers to them. I like strong leading lady roles.
Celebsfans: Can you give any advice to our readers that are trying to break into the industry?
My biggest advice is to put in the hard work because it pays off. You need to develop a thick skin because there is a lot of rejection in this business! Don’t give up!
