A Latest Interview With Talented Artist Scotty Chams

Q: First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?

In my 2nd year of university, I founded We The 9 in Oshawa to represent the 905 and have been building a prominent music presence constantly creating and putting out music since I started releasing music late 2015. I worked closely with DJs and a few artists while in Oshawa building up We The 9.

Q: What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?

Do what you need to do when you need to do it, how you need to do it. If that means not performing at all so be it. Though we grow most embracing our fears.

Q: When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Exciting, I’m never not working on a new project so if it was stressful that’d be an issue.

Q: How easily do songs tend to come to you?

I just need the right beat and the lyrics start hitting me and I can write an entire song in well under an hour sometimes.

Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?

Do what you want to do as if money was no object.

Q: What is your favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car right now?

Probably Vibrations by Alex Wiley or No Problem by Chance The Rapper.

Q: What are your future goals as a music artist?

To keep on releasing project after project. I would love to one day have so much music I can’t listen to it all in one day. That and a collab with Alex Wiley and Chance The Rapper.

Q: What was your most memorable performance to date?
Haven’t performed yet. Only been in the industry a short time. Moving back to Toronto soon to start doing live gigs.
