Robert Friedman is the president of avinaseating.com. when restaurants and hotels were closing due to corona most people ran away from that industry Robert Friedman opened up a furniture company targeting that specific industry and was wildly successful.
Q: First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
My first job was in sales -selling DME and furniture to nursing homes. I got to know a lot of furniture manufacturers. i realized that i can use my connections with manufacturers to sell restaurant chairs , ballroom chairs and synagouge chairs .
Q: What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
Eleanor Roosevelt once said “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Along the way you might start doubting yourself but keep your eye on the goal
Q:When you decide it’s time to opened up a furniture company in time of corona , is that more exciting or stressful?
I didn’t have a choice. My bills needed to get paid. Conventional wisdom would have had me give up. There is no way you can sell furniture to hotels and restaurants when they are all closed. i kept on calling and calling. What i did eventually find out that i wasn’t competeing against anyone because everyone else thought that no one else was buying .
Q: What’s your motto or the advice you live by?
The harder I work, the luckier I seem to feel.
Q :What are your future goals?
We are currently working with warehouses in the Midwest and North East where we can ship our furniture from. I do hope to extend our network of furniture manufacturers all across the nation so we can speed up the process for our customers
Q: Do you have any more future projects in the pipeline?
We are in talks with one the largest hotel chains to approve our chairs.
We just wrapped up a high end restaurant chair order in New Jersey and we currently are working on a huge Synagouge table order in Missouri
