An Interview With Hefe Heetroc

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m Hefe Heetroc, born in Rochester, NY. Traveled & lived all over California, always looking for an adventure

How long have you been in the music industry?

I really started taking music seriously in 2011, but I’ve been playing guitar since I was 19, so too friggin’ long lol

How did you get started in the first place?

Got started by taking guitar lessons at a music studio, writing songs, formed a band

How would you describe your sound?

Vaporwave x Glitchop x Aquacrunk

Who are your inspirations in the music industry?

Nirvana, Yung Tide, The Underachiever’s, CAPITAL STEEZ, Flatbush Zombie’s, Yung Lean

What are you currently working on?

Mixtape tentatively titled, “Blind Allegiance”

What is the concept behind your latest project?

Hmmm, We’ll just a devotion to a concept  so strong, you do not question anything about its reasoning or logic

Any plans on touring to promote your latest project?

Weighing all my options

What did you buy with your first check off music?

I think I prolly used it to pay bills, TBH

What is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed?

Any money you make from your project, put it back into your promotion

Will you be collaborating with any other artists on this project or in the future?

Naw, I did one mixtape full of only collabs, that was more than enough lol

Do you think your music is mostly enjoyed more for the beats or for the lyrical flow and content?

Beats get the person hypnotized, lyrics embed in one subconscious, flow gets you in part boppin’ your head

What area do you need to improve on in regards to your career? (Example: Better production, Delivery, Stage presence, etc..)

My weak points used to be my promotion, my idea of promoting was posting on a rap forum that had no posters on it, I’ve since corrected this flawed thinking and as of now, GetMyBuzzUp is my 129th Music Blog Review in a little over a year’s time

What’s your all-time favorite song?

“Space Energy”

In your opinion who is the most influential and successful artist in your genre today and why?

Jay Z, he’s generated multiple revenue streams based solely on the success of his brand

Who have been some of your favorite artists that youve been able to work with?

Loose Logic

How do you feel about the current state of music?

Meh, Watered down, the educational messages behind music’s lyrics are not there as much anymore, the lyrical aspect of hip hop in commercial music; I feel, is gone from the late 90’s, making “smart” music really isn’t considered cool anymore, yeah they’re some cats trying to bring back that “woke” style, but it’s few and far betweet

What is your main goal as far as music?

To develop & generate  multiple revenue streams based on my brand

What separates you from other artists? (What’s makes you different?

I don’t try to copy the current hot song, I let the vibe, the beats I make dictate how the song should sound, my songs are a trippy cube of congealed madness, my songs are multi dimensional in my approach to the lyrics, sweeping synths, it’s all interesting to the listeners

When your not in the studio, What do you like to do for fun and relaxation?

Play Guitar, Write, Xbox

If you could work with any producer who would it be?

Hmmm, Dspiize

Whats the biggest highlight of your career thus far?

Getting heavy rotation on WRIU FM Rhode Island’s 1# Largest non commercial radio station, they reach 4 states total, DJ Padrino official DJ of the Coke Boys (French Montana’s Group) played it on air, it was received so well, they put it in heavy rotation

What artist music are you currently a fan of?
Loose Logic, Yung Lean,Yung Tide
